Guess the birthdate or name and win a prize!

Want to win a free prize? Spirited Rose Encore Rosalind is getting ready to calve! Our problem is, she was put in with the bull, and we have no official due date! Her earliest possible calving date was December 10th, and that’s long gone by now. When do you think she will calve?

Help us by predicting the due date and you could win a copy of the book KISS THE COW by Phyllis Root OR SYLVIA’S FARM: A biography by Sylvia Jorrin.* To enter the contest, respond in the “comments” section of this posting and tell us an exact date and approximate time for calving (example: December 10 in the morning).

Also, we do not know if Rosalind is having a boy or girl, so please suggest some names that start with “R” and if we choose the name you suggested, we will also send you a copy of the book KISS THE COW! (Be sure to include some way of getting ahold of you or else be sure to check back regularly and see if you won!)

WE WILL ANNOUNCE THE WINNER(s) AS SOON AS ROSALIND CALVES!

*Winner will be chosen by the person with the closest date and time to actual calving. Additional winner may be chosen, if we choose a name you suggested.Β No additional information about Rosalind’s progress will be reported, until she calves and the contest is closed. The contest will remain open to anyone until the time when we post that she has calved. In the chance of a tie, we will randomly select a winner.

December 25th, EARLY morning (still dark out). Santa will deliver with a bow on HER. πŸ˜‰ Then you can name HER Ruby. πŸ™‚ Well, sounds good in my head anyway. πŸ™‚

If it were a bull, I guess Rudolf would work, hunh?

I am going to go with a Christmas morning baby! The English use Rose as a variant of the name Royce. You should name that pretty Christmas Heifer “Royce”.
Here is to a helathy calving!!!

My guess would be December 28, late morning or mid-day. My choice for “R” names would be Rosanna for a heifer and Roy for a bull calf. Good luck. She sure is beautiful.

  8. What a great looking heifer Michelle! My guess is she will calve on December 29. My suggestion for an R name is one I reserved for one of my cows but she had a bull 😦 I was going to name her “Roxy’s Resolution” in honor of the New Year, but in your case, I would name her “Rosalind’s Resolution”.
